LOCAL SERVICE FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. Does it cost anything to
switch to Advent Telecom?
A. No! There are absolutely no charges of any kind to switch
your local service to us.
Q. Do I have to change my current
phone number?
A. No! You keep your current telephone number.
Q. Are there any term commitments?
A. No, you may remain with Advent Telecom as long as you wish.
Q. How long does it take to
get on the service?
A. Typically, any change needed to be made to an account at
the switch level can be completed within 3 to 14 business
days after you placed your order. Moves will take at least
5 business days to complete.
Q. How can I tell if my phone
number is on the service?
A. You will receive a welcome letter confirming your phone
number is active on the service.
Q. How is this service billed?
A. Once your order has been confirmed with Advent you will
be invoiced for charges inclusive of your first month's local
service. Each month, you will be billed for your Local and
Long Distance charges using the method of payment selected
at the time of sign up.
Q. What about my White or Yellow
Pages listing?
A. Your directory listings will be carried over as is at the
time of conversion, including your White and Yellow pages
listing.
